Do you know the difference between an antiperspirant and a deodorant. A deodorant is a fragrance used to cover up an odor while an antiperspirant actually inhibits perspiration. Fresh perspiration is pretty much odorless, but the sweat in a damp area then grows odor-producing bacteria – eww!
Certain Dri is an antiperspirant and works by shrinking or closing off the pores to actually stop excessive perspiration. According to the company, it’s the strongest formula that is available without a prescription.
My biggest complain about anti-perspirants or deodorants is the marks they can leave on dark clothing. This isn’t an issue with Certain-Dri becuase you are supposed to put it on at night. It works while you sleep to shrink the pores and stop excessive perspiration.
I’ve been applying daily and its working great so far. It also smells nice when you are putting it on – it smells exactly like baby powder. Once you have been using it a while, you only have to apply it 2 to 3 times per week for it to be effective.
Another interesting thing on the box insert mentions that according to a US Army medical researcher using antiperspirant on your feet for five days before a major walk, run, or bike ride can reduce blisters by reducing the sweating that creates the friction that leads to blisters. I haven’t tried this one yet (I’m a bit out of shape and my workouts aren’t long enough for this to be an issue), but if you have tried this please leave us a comment and let us know how it works.
