{My Lip Stuff} + Giveaway open WORLDWIDE

My Lip Stuff has hundreds of flavors of natural lip balm. They are a fun company with an awesome product. Their website says: “My Lip Stuff’s ultimate mission is to end the suffering of people with chapped lips all across the land. In the process, we strive to end animal testing and save the environment with chemical-free natural products!”

The creator and owner of my lip stuff is Brea. She began making lip balm as a hobby. Once she found the perfect blend of butters, oils, and beeswax, her friends and family loved it so much that it eventually became a business. She is also makes lotions, sprays, creams, bath salts and lip gloss.  My Lip Stuff lip balms are skin, earth, and animal friendly, and they hand make all their products in very small batches to ensure freshness.

We got to sample a few of the flavors including raspberry lemonade, pumpkin cookies, and peach cobbler. They were all awesome. With the ones we tried, the “flavors” truly smell just as the name suggests. The consistency is great, they moisturize well, and they make your lips very soft. They are not tinted at all, but they do have a slight shine to them. They aren’t greasy or too thick feeling on your lips. And you have got to stop by their site and check out all of the different flavors that they offer.

They even have some fun collections: mood lip balms (with names like “stressed” “jealous” “flirty”. . .), days of the week lip balms, booze lip balms (scents like “rum & coke”, ”appletini”, ”mojito”…)  fortune cookie lip balms (where each one has a fortune), horoscope lip balms, themed party lip balms and more.  They even have “Magic 8 balms” which includes eight different lip balms with special labels in a black satin pouch. You ask the “Magic 8 Balm” a question, reach into the pouch, and pull out a lip balm with the answer to your question printed on the label.   Lots of fun!

{Klutz Books} +Giveaway

I absolutely LOVE Klutz books! Every year for Christmas, I make sure that my kids get a couple of books, and I always make sure to include at least one book by Klutz.   They have lots of great activity books that come with the supplies needed for the activity. They have a wide range of books in lots of different categories which include “how to,“ arts and crafts, building, drawing, science, games, puzzles, jewelry, and tons more. You can also get extra supplies from their site.

Over the years it has always been easy to find the perfect book from Klutz that the kids will love no matter how their interests change. Klutz has so many different great books in each of their categories. The most difficult thing is trying to limit how many I get because there are so many that look like a lot of fun for the kids (and for me too).

Here are a just a few of Klutz’s books:

Doodlewire – This book includes reusable lengths of soft, plastic-wrapped steel wire that you bend around and “doodle” with. There are samples shapes in the book or you can bend freestyle.

Charm Chains – The one has instructions with lots of sample images. You can learn to make charms out of wire, sparkly beads, and pretty plastic cutouts. Learn to make a butterfly, a raindrop, a flower, a peace symbol and more.

The Truth about My Name – This book has little things that tell you about your name. It also has the supplies to make five charms that you can personalize with your name or initials.

Kids Cooking – A very slightly messy manual (I love the name)- A great collection of recipes for kids printed on “wipe-clean, glossy pages” and comes with a set of measuring spoons.

Make Your Own Music Video – With this one you can create music video starring you. It teaches how to develop storyboards, camera angles to use, includes a green screen, and shows you how to use video-editing software that you can download for free.

The Hand Book (my son’s current favorite) – This one has a life-size skeleton hand that you assemble and has lots of cool things to learn about hands.

These would make a great gift for the little girls on your list. I love the “dream big and go for it” message of these dolls.

{Galison} + Giveaway

As a busy mom, I find myself using lots of stationary and things to keep me organized. I was very excited to discover Galison. Galison makes beautiful boxed note cards, decorative labels, organizers, desk items, and more using fine art and contemporary designs. And they have tons of great holiday designs too.  (Yep, it’s that time of year again.)   I love having beautiful desk of supplies to work with!

Their note cards are beautiful.  These are some of my favorities:  

 I especially love their organzing products. As a busy mom, I find that I’m keeping track of tons of things for myself and other family members. I got the opportuinity to try out one of their weekly organizers.  It’s available in tons of cute prints, but my favorite is the sleek, clazzy look of the modern geometry print.

It’s a nice folder with a magnetic clasp that contains weekly organizing sheets, three sticky note pads, a memo pad, and a reciept envelope. There are also other coordinating organization products including file totes, journals, file folders and more. The organizing sheets work perfectly for the way I keep track of things, and I love the tons of sticky notes so I can leave reminders for the kids (and myself).

And for kids, they have lots cool products available through their other store called Mudpuppy. They have beautifully designed toys, educational puzzles, games, stationery, diaries and more for kids.

{First Fitness Balance Battle Combat Fitness} + Giveaway

I’m sure you’ve seen Aqua Leisure products. They make those great swim floats and sun shades for summertime fun. They have added a new line of products called First Fitness. Their goal with First Fitness is to offer fun active sports equipment and games for kids to get them interested in fitness early and to make fitness fun. I love this. They have a jump rope with a counter, hop balls, obstacles courses, even a kids treadmill and lots more. I love fun things that encourage kids to spend less time with electronics and more time being active.

 

We got the opportunity to review the First Fitness Balance Battle Combat Fitness Game. It is lots of fun.
It comes with two soft inflatable battle sticks and two balance pads. The object is to use the bats to knock the other person off their balance circle. My kids love this! First Fitness says that it helps kids work on their balance equilibrium and agility skills. It also teaches them to react and recover. There is also an amount of strategy involved in deciding how to hit, push, or move based on what the other person does. One strategy my son used was just standing there while his sister hit him until she lost her balance and fell off, lol.

Balancing on the circles is fun (and challenging) by itself. (I’ve noticed that lots of exercise programs for adults are using discs like this.)  The kids were even trying to balance on one foot.  Balancing on the disc is actually harder than you’d think. You can really feel your muscles working to help keep you on the disc. Then when you add in swinging the inflatable bats, things get really challenging and really fun. The bats are soft and don’t hurt if you get bopped in the head or the body.  They do hurt a bit if you get hit in the face. We have a “no hitting in the face” rule to keep everybody happy.

We also found that to make the balance pads easier you can not inflate them as much.  Mom and Dad played too (you can’t let the kids have all the fun), and in one match dad was laughing so hard that he fell off the disk without even being hit. I love that the kids are working on balance and hand eye coordination while they are having fun. And I’m sure that all the laughing they are doing is also working on their stomach muscles, too. lol

{Dav} + Giveaway

Dav rainwear is a line of beautiful and sophisticated footwear and accessories for rainy days. I’ve always loved rainy days and now I look forward to them even more since I’ve got my Dav boots! If you don’t like rainy days, a great pair of Dav boots may just be the thing that changes your mind!  :-)

Dav says that their boots are luxury foot wear and I definitely agree. Not only are their boots stylish, they are also well made and very comfortable, and they have a soft and cozy fleece lining.  There are lots of beautiful colors and styles to choose from. I wear the Victoria Lynx Rainboot in slate and I love them.  They are beautiful, comfortable, and keep my feet dry.  I love how the lace-up back of the Victoria style lets you adjust the boot to give extra room around the top. They also have a textured bottom to help prevent slipping. They are very easy to wipe clean after a day in rainy, muddy weather.  They are so fashionable and pretty, I want to wear them even when it isn’t raining!

{Chasing Treasure } +Giveaway

I love jewelry boxes. It is important to have a good jewelry box to keep your jewelry in good condition and well-organized so you can find what you are looking for. When she was little, we got my daughter a small box with two drawers to keep her plastic princess bracelets in. As she got older and has started to get more “grown up” jewelry, she continued to use that box and was constantly loosing earrings or bracelets and sometimes vacuuming them up (Yes, for anyone who has not done it, the vacuum does destroy earrings). As soon as we got her a jewelry box that was well-deigned and beautiful (about a year ago), she hasn’t lost or damaged a single pair of earrings!
